The follow-up of your pregnancy
During the pregnancy, women will experience different body transformations and suffer new constraints (stresses). The baby’s growth leads to a shift in the center of gravity. The hormonal impregnation will make the ligaments, joints and tissues more flexible and can often lead to different disorders:
The osteopath will choose soft and adapted methods when seeing to the pregnant woman, in order to treat these dysfunctions in a non-invasive and pain-free manner. This applies as much to the mother as to the baby.
Consulting your osteopath during your pregnancy will allow your body to better adapt to all of these changes in order to maintain an optimal balance and let you make the most of your pregnancy. It will also increase your baby’s comfort.
We advise our patients to come for a check-up one month prior to childbirth, to ensure that the pelvic and perineal mobility is ideal. This is a critical aspect, to ensure that the baby’s descent through the pelvis will take place as smoothly as possible.
After delivery, a consultation for a general check-up is necessary to ensure that all the structures have regained their respective places and mobility. This can be done at the same time as perineum rehab with a physiotherapist or a midwife.
Some women start feeling pain after childbirth, because of fatigue, positioning when breastfeeding or even carrying/lifting their baby in their arms.
Your practice, OstéOptimum, is well-suited to receive newborns. Don’t hesitate to bring them along for your appointment, or to come accompanied by a minder.
